Creative Labyrinth
This retreat is a perfect way to initiate, engage in and deepen a one-on-one working dialogue with the Muse. Creative Labyrinth is geared towards a wide-ranging set of interests, skills and artistic media. We will be using a lighthearted multilevel approach to facilitate authentic creative encounters as we actively explore surrounding areas of Liguria and Piemonte. Some of the topics to be covered are:
• “Ariadne’s thread” sketching method
• “Gestural dialogue” through drawing
• “Genoa’s own” – Emmanuelle Luzzatti’s cityscape collage technique
How can creative process help us in navigating the labyrinth of self-discovery and inner development? Probing and searching for answers to this and other related questions is an essential element of the Creative Labyrinth retreats. Transforming artistic inquiry into a working dialog between one’s soul and the surrounding Universe is the primary mission of this creative laboratory.

Van Gogh’s Shoes
Following in the footsteps of the great outdoor painters of the past this retreat is a working holiday for true plein-air enthusiasts painting with oils, acrylics, pastels or mixed media. It includes a 4-hour work session in the morning and another one in the afternoon with full-fledged focus on classic functioning landscapes that Van Gogh and Cezanne would enjoy dipping their brushes into. Sessions will include group and individual instruction for those who desire it, as well as group discussions regarding creative successes and challenges of the day.

Family Affair
This retreat offers a unique opportunity for creation of an artistic family oasis while vacationing together. Our art program offers skill building and portfolio preparation for teens as well as creative self-discovery and an authentic artistic inquiry for adults.
Dates: June 28 – July 6, July 12 –July 20
Fee: $2200 per person (10% discount for families of 3 and more)
Painting Circus
A potent motivating mix for young people that adds collaborative edge to a combination of key elements used in Creative Labyrinth and Van Gogh’s Shoes. It is designed to catapult the participants towards a new understanding of their own creative potential and its possible place in their lives.
Dates: June 14 – June 25 (11 day program)

All of the retreats include a dinner and a cooking class with Cinzia Gilbert. Gilbert is an internationally recognized chef and restaurateur who will share with you her love of local cuisine.
Fees include: double occupancy lodging at Villa Schella (single room surcharge $300 per retreat), possible triple occupancy for Painting Circus.
Retreats include: 8 nights lodging (11 nights for Painting Circus), breakfasts and dinners with free wine, transportation to and from painting sites, basic art supplies.
